NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION WOMEN LAWYERS DIVISION (WLD) PHILADELPHIA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT

National Bar Association, Women Lawyers Division (WLD) Philadelphia Chapter Scholarship Program.
Through the Women Lawyers Division (WLD) Scholarship Foundation (“the WLD Foundation”), WLD awarded academic scholarships for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. “We are so proud of our law students who have been selected as scholarship recipients and encourage all law students to take these simple actions by visiting the WLD website and social media pages to learn more about the scholarship program and attending events,” said Karima Yelverton WLD President.
“Since its inception, the National Bar Association, Women Lawyers Division (WLD), Philadelphia Chapter has spearheaded efforts to preserve the legacy of Dr. Sadie T.M. Alexander and Justice Juanita Kidd Stout by establishing scholarship awards in their honor, among the first of its kind in the nation. For the past forty-four (44) years, WLD and the Foundation have annually distributed Alexander and Stout scholarships to deserving African American female law school students at the five (5) law schools in the Philadelphia area. Many of these scholarship recipients have completed their law school training and have pursued successful legal careers (including several in leadership roles). All WLD Scholarship Recipients receive a financial benefit in their quest to obtain their law degree and most importantly (by their own outstanding individual legal profiles and a myriad of accomplishments) ensure that the legacy of Dr. Alexander and Justice Stout is preserved in perpetuity,” said the Honorable Judge Jacqueline F. Allen.
