WLD joined forces with other professional
groups to
Enlighten
the minds,
change
Expectations
and
Encourage
new directions
for students in the Philadelphia School District by visiting
their school to talk about our respective careers, in
an effort to make sure the students know that "we" care and to
let them know that they can aspire to any of these careers and
others. WLD visited began in Young Scholars, Thurgood Marshall and Lamberton. Click the following link to see

Community Service Projects.
o
Girls Unit.
The WLD worked with the Girls Unit Program of the Family Court,
prior to its discontinuation. The WLD conducted several
Saturday programs with the young ladies, which were both
successful and beneficial to the girls and the WLD members.
o
Adopt-a-Family for Christmas.
Each Christmas we try to help those in need. In the last couple
of years, we have collected monetary and toiletry donations for
a women’s shelter, gifts for the parents and toys for the
children in a deserving family during the holidays. See the
past recipients in our
photo album
and read the thank you from the family.
Although, it is our duty to give back for all that we have been
given, your continued participation in and support of our
community service programs is not overlooked and is greatly
appreciated. For all those who made donations: thank you, thank
you, thank you.
· Law
